Vanden Boeynant II government
The government of Vanden Boeynants II ruled Belgium from October 20, 1978 to December 18, 1978. Six parties were involved in the government: the Flemish ( PSC ) and Walloon Christian Democrats ( CVP ), the Flemish ( BSP ) and Walloon Socialists ( PS ) , FDF and VU .
After the Egmont Pact negotiated by the Tindemans IV government , which was supposed to regulate the federal structure of Belgium and the relationship between the linguistic communities, met increasing resistance from various parties, Prime Minister Leo Tindemans announced his resignation on October 11, 1978. The new prime minister was Paul Vanden Boeynants , whose government was based on the same parties as the previous government. After the parliamentary elections on December 17, 1978 , Prime Minister Wilfried Martens formed a new government to which the Volksunie no longer belonged.
