Government of Tindeman II
The Tindemans II government was in office in Belgium from June 11, 1974 to March 4, 1977.
After the early parliamentary election in 1974 , Leo Tindemans (CVP) formed a 4-party government consisting of Flemish ( CVP ) and Walloon Christian Democrats ( PSC ) as well as Flemish ( PVV ) and Walloon ( PRL ) liberals. In June 1974 the Rassemblement Wallon (RW) joined the government. The Tindemans II government collapsed in 1977 when RW did not approve the budget of the Ministry of Economic Affairs because it did not care enough about job losses in the Walloon steel industry. In addition, the RW issued an ultimatum to the government to promote the regionalization of Belgium. Thereupon the king dismissed the two ministers of the RW at the suggestion of the Prime Minister. The following government of Tindemans III held office until the early parliamentary elections on April 17, 1977 .
