Government of Tindeman IV

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Tindemans IV government was in office in Belgium from June 3, 1977 to October 11, 1978. After the early parliamentary elections on April 17, 1977 , Prime Minister Léo Tindemans (CVP) formed a government of Flemish ( CVP ) and Walloon ( PSC ) Christian Democrats and Socialists ( PSB / BSP ), the Francophone ( FDF ) and the Flemish VU . After the Egmont Pact negotiated by the government, who was supposed to regulate the federal structure of Belgium and the relationship between the language communities, encountered increasing resistance from various parties, Prime Minister Tindemans announced his resignation on October 11, 1978. The previous Defense Minister Paul Vanden Boeynants (PSC) headed a transitional government until the general election on December 17, 1978 .
