Government of G. Eyskens I

The G. Eyskens I government was in office in Belgium from August 11, 1949 to June 6, 1950. The Spaak IV government, a coalition of socialists ( PSB / BSP ) and Christian Democrats ( PSC / CVP ), was established after the parliamentary elections in 1949 by a dated Christian Democrats Gaston Eyskens- led coalition of Christian Democrats and Liberals ( PL / LP ) replaced. After the referendum on the return of King Leopold III. , the government resigned because the liberal coalition partner refused to return. The parliament was dissolved. In the parliamentary elections in 1950 , the Christian Democrats won an absolute majority in both chambers. Jean Duvieusart became Prime Minister of a sole government of the Christian Democrats.
