Pierre Wigny
Pierre Wigny (born April 18, 1905 in Liège , † September 21, 1986 in Brussels ) was a Belgian politician ( cdH ).
Pierre Wigny studied law at Harvard University and received his doctorate there. Jur. 1936 he became general secretary of the Center d'étude pour la réforme de l'Etat . From 1949 to 1971 he was a member of the Belgian parliament . From 1952 to 1958 he was also a member of the parliamentary assembly of the European Coal and Steel Community , the European Parliament . From 1958 to 1959, he was chairman of the EPP group in the European Parliament .
From 1947 to 1950 he succeeded Robert Godding as Belgian colonial minister . From 1958 to 1961 he was Belgian Foreign Minister , and from 1965 to 1966 as Minister of Justice . In 1968 he became minister for the last time and was given the Ministry of Culture . In 1986 he was awarded the Robert Schuman Medal .
