Quinara is an administrative region in Guinea-Bissau with about 60,000 inhabitants. The capital of the region is Buba with around 17,000 inhabitants.
Characterized by the Rio Grande de Buba and the Atlantic Ocean , the region is especially for the port of Buba and the natural park Parque Natural das Lagoas because Cufada known with its many lakes, mangroves and wetlands. The last areas of the Guinea-Bissau jungle threatened by agriculture are also in the Quinara region.
The predominant ethnic group is the Biafada , with a smaller number of Mandinka ( Mandinga ), Fulbe ( Fula ), Balanta , Manjago ( Manjaca ) and Pepel ( Papel ).

The Quinara region is divided into four sectors :
economy
The economy of the region is determined by fishing and agriculture, and Buba is important as a port and trading city. An occasionally discussed connection between rail transport in Guinea and Buba, for example , in order to ship parts of Mali's and Niger's exports from there , has not yet been specified.
