The regional television Erzgebirge (RFE) was a television station in the former district of Annaberg . The RFE broadcast a 24-hour program that consisted of picture text panels and videos.

history

In 1989 the city television station for Geyer , the "City-TV Geyer" , was created in a gray area under media law . In 1995 the "Regionales Fernsehen Erzgebirge (RFE) GmbH" was founded, which applied for the licenses for most of the Annaberg district from the Saxon State Agency for Private Broadcasting and New Media (SLM). Licensing took place in February 1995, at that time for the organization of a full 24-hour program in most of the cable systems in the district of Annaberg. In October the first employees were given permanent jobs.

In March 1996, a dedicated editorial team with two graphic designers was set up for the screen newspaper INFOKANAL. In April 1996, Regionales Fernsehen Erzgebirge (RFE) GmbH was a founding member of the regional television broadcasters working group in Saxony (ARIS). This working group looked after the interests of its members and built up a joint, supra-regional marketing of the member stations. In August 1996, the technical production was on "Professional-S" ( S-VHS ), previously on Hi8 .

In February 1997, the license was extended by the SLM for a further three years. In June 1997 the company moved into the premises in Altmarkt 1 in Geyer, and from July 1997 seven permanent and several freelance employees worked for the RFE. In 1998 the RFE acted as an organizer in addition to its television program. The broadcaster organized several RFE Sunday concerts and in November 1998 the Erste Allgemeine Verunsicherung (EAV) played in the Annaberger Silberlandhalle.

In 1999 the program was significantly further developed. The first news bulletin aired in the week of September 18 to September 24. Furthermore, studio productions took place for the first time. The broadcaster produced two programs for the owners' association Haus und Grund. All programs were produced in the specially built studio in Geyer.

Since the beginning of 1999, the station had financial problems. In October 1999 the RFE had to file for bankruptcy. The last broadcast was in the week of September 25th to October 1st. On March 22, 2007, the company was officially deleted from the Chemnitz commercial register (commercial register number: HRB 11909).
