history

The row village Reichenbach was first mentioned in 1404 as "Richenbach". It originated on the Fulitz desert . The manor over the place was around 1551 with the manor Kriebstein , since the inheritance of the von Carlowitz brothers in 1562 it has been with the manor Ehrenberg .

In 1588, the Saxon elector Christian I acquired the Carlowitz holdings of the former Kriebstein rule, to which Reichenbach also belonged, and integrated them into the Rochlitz office . Thus Reichenbach belonged to the electoral or royal Saxon office of Rochlitz until 1856 . The offices were dissolved during the administrative reforms carried out in the Kingdom of Saxony in the 19th century . As a result, Reichenbach came under the administration of the Waldheim court office in 1856 and in 1875 under the newly established Döbeln administrative administration . Ecclesiastically, the place is parish to Grünlichtenberg.

As a result of the second district reform in the GDR , the municipality of Reichenbach became part of the Hainichen district in the Chemnitz district (renamed the Karl-Marx-Stadt district in 1953 ), which was continued as the Saxon district of Hainichen from 1990 and in 1994 in the Mittweida district and in 2008 in Central Saxony district rose. On January 1, 1996 Reichenbach was incorporated into Kriebstein.
