history

Höckendorf was first mentioned in a document from 1336 as "Houkendorph". In this document of May 12, 1336 it was recorded that the provost and convent of the nunnery in Döbeln acquired the villages " Grunenbergk " and "Höckendorph" from the cathedral church in Meißen . This also included the nun forest to the southeast. In 1485 Höckendorf came under the rule of Duke Albrecht of Saxony . In 1543, Duke Moritz sold the Vorwerk and village of Grünberg, which belonged to the secularized Döbeln Monastery , along with Höckendorf, Meinsberg and Moosheim, including the Nonnenwald, to Georg von Carlowitz (1544–1550), the new owner of the Kriebstein estate . The lordship over Höckendorf exercised the castle Kriebstein in 1551 , after 1590 the place was Amtsdorf . In 1588, the Saxon elector Christian I acquired the Carlowitz property of the former Kriebstein rule and integrated them into the Rochlitz office . Thus Höckendorf belonged to the Electoral Saxon or Royal Saxon Office of Rochlitz until 1856 . The offices were dissolved during the administrative reforms carried out in the Kingdom of Saxony in the 19th century . As a result, Höckendorf came under the administration of the Waldheim court office in 1856 and to the newly established Döbeln administrative authority in 1875 .

As a result of the second district reform in the GDR , the municipality of Höckendorf became part of the Hainichen district in the Chemnitz district (renamed the Karl-Marx-Stadt district in 1953 ), which was continued as the Saxon district of Hainichen from 1990 and in 1994 in the Mittweida district and in 2008 in Central Saxony district rose.

On March 1, 1994, Höckendorf was incorporated into Grünlichtenberg . The community Grünlichtenberg with its districts was again incorporated into Kriebstein on January 1, 1999.
