René Sócrates Sándigo Jiron (born April 19, 1965 in Diria ) is a Nicaraguan Roman Catholic clergyman and bishop of León en Nicaragua .

Life

The Bishop of Granada , Leovigildo López Fitoria CM , ordained him on July 11, 1992 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Juigalpa on October 28, 2004 . He was ordained episcopal by the Archbishop of Managua , Miguel Cardinal Obando Bravo SDB , on January 22nd of the following year; Co - consecrators were Jean-Paul Aimé Gobel , Apostolic Nuncio in Nicaragua , and Leopoldo José Brenes Solórzano , Bishop of Matagalpa .

Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of León en Nicaragua on June 29, 2019. The inauguration took place on August 24 of the same year.
