The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Managua ( lat. : Archidioecesis Managuensis , span. : Arquidiócesis de Managua ) is in Nicaragua located Roman Catholic archdiocese , based in Managua .

history

The Archdiocese of Managua was established on December 2, 1913 by Pope Pius X with the papal bull Quum iuxta apostolicum effatum from cessions of territory of the Diocese of León en Nicaragua . On December 19, 1924, the Archdiocese of Managua gave up parts of its territory to establish the Diocese of Matagalpa .
