Renate Barken (born July 25, 1920 in Potsdam , † February 6, 2014 in Berlin ) married as Ilse Ingeborg Ferfert . Ingeborg Martay was a German actress , director , voice actress and film producer .

Life

Since the 1940s, Barken appeared as an actress in film productions. She starred under the direction of Boleslaw Barlog in Der Grüne Salon , alongside Gustav Fröhlich in Stips and in Hans-Waldemar Bublitz 's adaptation of Jacques Deval's Beloved Shadow .

As a theater actress, for example, Barken appeared on February 16, 1952 alongside Gisela Trowe and Klaus Kinski in the German premiere of Julien Luchaire's The Twenty Years at Hebbeltheater in Berlin.

She also worked as a director and made the documentary Big City Sunday (1958) together with the cameraman Ernst Wilhelm Fiedler . In 1961 she wrote the screenplay for Herbert Ballmann's documentary Germany without fig leaf .

Barken also worked extensively in dubbing and radio play productions and lent her voice to Margaret Sheridan in The Thing from Another World , Patricia Hitchcock in The Stranger on a Train , Terry Moore in Panic for King Kong and Sonja Henie in Adopted Glück .

Private

In 1955 Barken married Oscar Martay , the initiator of the Berlin International Film Festival Renate Barken was her stage name, her name was then Ingeborg Martay. In 1957 she founded the TV / film and television production company Zenit-Film Ingeborg Martay in West Berlin . Oscar Martay was the production manager. They have two sons, Kenneth and Manuel. (* 1956 and * 1960). Kenneth works as an anesthetist at the Digestive Health Center at UW Medical Center - Montlake, University Of Washington Seattle , USA . Manuel is a qualified social pedagogue and specialist advisor for victim support in Berlin.
