Renate Herfurth

Renate Herfurth (born July 30, 1943 in Guben ; † October 30, 2009 in Leipzig ) was a German commercial artist, book designer and illustrator in Leipzig.

After the bookbinding apprenticeship started in 1959, she worked in this profession until 1967. In 1967 she began studying at the Leipzig University of Graphics and Book Art , which she graduated in 1972 with a degree in graphic design. Since 1972 she has been working as a freelancer in Leipzig. She mainly worked as a book illustrator and in the field of commercial graphics, where she B. Created book posters. From 1982 to 2008 she taught painting and graphics at the Institute for Art Education at Leipzig University .

Renate Herfurth was married to the Leipzig graphic artist and illustrator Egbert Herfurth (* 1944).
