Renda is a district of the municipality of Ringgau in the Werra-Meißner district in Hesse ( Germany ).

geography

Renda is located in the northeastern part of Hesse in a hollow on the predominantly unwooded central plateau of the Ringgau . 3 km north-northeast is Netra (seat of the ring Gauer local government) and about 9 km (depending crow flies ) west is Sontra . The Renda , which forms an eastern tributary of the Ulfe, is being built near the village .

history

At the beginning of the 9th century, Renda was first mentioned as Reinede in a list of the goods lent by Archbishop Lullus († 786) of Mainz to the monastery of Hersfeld von Free . The sheltered location of Renda encouraged the establishment of a settlement early on; With its mention between 775 and 786, the place is one of the oldest places in the Werra landscape.

On December 31, 1971, the previously independent place was incorporated into the new municipality of Ringgau.

The 1225th anniversary celebration took place from July 1st to 3rd, 2011.
