Retroactive (alternatively: Retroactive - A Wrinkle in Time ) is an American science fiction - Thriller by Louis Morneau from the year 1997 .
action
The police psychologist Karen tries to solve a hostage drama, but the kidnappers kill six hostages. When she is on the way back from an assignment on a Texas street , her car breaks down. At the same time, a man gives Frank stolen microchips that Frank is supposed to sell. Frank and his wife Rayanne drive on and take Karen waiting on the roadside with them.
Frank receives photos from his accomplice, a shop owner, that should prove that Rayanne is having an affair. He argues with her and then kills her in the presence of Karen. Karen escapes to a government laboratory where time travel experiments are carried out. It is moved 20 minutes into the past.
Karen tries to prevent Frank's murder. She alerts a police officer, but Frank shoots him. He later kills his wife and other people. Karen flees into the laboratory again. The next time, Karen and the laboratory manager go back in time, but this time too, numerous people die, including the police officer and a passing tourist family.
Karen and the lab manager drive an hour back in time; the stress on the devices due to the range causes them to explode. This time Karen refuses Frank's offer to take them away; instead, the laboratory manager takes them with him in his car. Frank is shot by his wife, who is then arrested.
Reviews
Christopher Null wrote on Filmcritic.com that the plot was " idiotic " (" asinine ").
Diane Selkirk wrote in the Apollo Guide that the concept of the film was " poorly implemented ". “ Continuity ” and “ credibility ” have been sacrificed to kill as many people as possible. Use the formula of a science fiction film to show as many scenes of the shootings as possible without additional plot, which saves costs, but does not make a good film. The film is something for fans of James Belushi who want to see how often he always kills the same police officer.
The London magazine Time Out wrote that the film offers " explosive action " and elements of a black comedy, but was only " vaguely plausible ". He reminded me of such B-movies as Tremors - In the land of rocket worms . The " quirky " ( " quirky "), " imaginative " script values on him. The portrayal of James Belushi was " exaggerated "; the constant showing of the cleavage of Kylie Travis prevents any claim of the film.
