Save Christmas! (Original title Get Santa ) is a 2014 film directed by Christopher Smith .

action

Just before Christmas, Steve Anderson is paroled from prison. His strict probation officer explains that he will have to check in with her regularly for the next two weeks. If he missed a meeting with her, it would be a parole violation and she would send him back to prison. He is a little confused when suddenly his nine-year-old son Tom calls him and asks for help. He would have found Santa Claus in the garage and since his sled broke after a crash landing, they would have to help him get back to the North Pole, otherwise Christmas would be canceled this year. As excited as Tom sounded, Steve, who lives separated from Tom's mother, rushes to him. He initially assumes that one of his old buddies is trying to convince him to do a new robbery. He remembers the reports on television that reindeer were spotted walking the streets of London, but he still thinks this Santa Claus is crazy and sends him out of the garage. Santa Claus tries to get back his reindeer on his own, which have since been caught and brought to an animal shelter, but is caught and locked in prison by the police.

The next morning, Steve appears for a planned outing at Tom and his mother's, but the boy refuses to go anywhere and wants to visit Santa Claus in prison. Santa explains to Steve how to find the reindeer and the sleigh. In return, Steve gives him some pointers on how to get along in prison. While Santa Claus is asked to act as Santa Claus at the prison Christmas party, Steve finds the place where the reindeer were taken. Steve and Tom are supposed to find the reindeer "Dasher" here because the animal knows what to do to free Santa Claus. Tom and Steve take “Dasher” with them, who helps them find Santa's red sleigh too. When Steve calls Santa Claus to let him know, he accidentally spills all of the magical dust the sleigh needs to fly. Santa Claus asked Steve to go to the Phoenix Tower in Suffolk, where he would find help. But this means that Steve missed his appointment with the probation officer, but he doesn't care if he can only be with his son and stand by him. Despite some delays, they can reach the Phoenix Tower but don't know what to do next. When Steve calls the prison about this, he learns that Santa Claus has been identified there as the convicted "Henry Mitchell" and has been transferred to solitary confinement. So Steve doubts the whole story again and considers giving up, but Tom convinces him to keep going so that Christmas doesn't miss out. By chance they discover how to open the Phoenix Tower and that it is a reception tower for letters to Santa Claus. From here the letters reach the North Pole and so Tom and Steve travel through the letter tunnel to the elf city. The "boss" has been missing there for a few days, so that in some countries the children have not received any presents. Steve persuades the elves to give him an old sleigh and reindeer to save Santa Claus from prison. Once there, they can magically enlarge a small chimney so that Steve and Tom can enter the prison, but Santa Claus has just managed to break out of prison with the help of the short prisoner Sally. To find Santa Claus, Tom came up with the idea of writing him a letter, which they then follow when he “flies” to Santa. This succeeds and so not only Tom and Steve finally meet Santa Claus again, but also Tom's mother Allison, who is looking for her son with her boyfriend Tony. Together they flee from the police, who are on the heels of the escaped, and reach the park, where the reindeer are already waiting in front of the sled. Santa Claus invites Sally to come with him and after the police arrive, Santa wishes everyone a Merry Christmas and thanks Steve and Tom for their help. He appeals to the police not to imprison Steve again immediately for his violation of the parole condition, but to see his good core and to appreciate the merit of having saved Christmas.
