Rafe Spall (born March 10, 1983 in East Dulwich , London ) is a British actor .

Private life

Rafe Spall was born and raised in London. His father is the British actor Timothy Spall . He is the second of three children from Timothy and Shane Spall (née Baker). Rafe is the name of the title character in The Knight of the Burning Pestle by Francis Beaumont , who played his father in the 1980s.

In August 2010 he married the actress Elize du Toit. They live in West Kensington and have a daughter and a son together.

Career

While still in school, Rafe Spall decided to become an actor and left college and went to the National Youth Theater to get a place in an acting school. He has worked with director Edgar Wright , so he starred in the films Shaun of the Dead (2004) and Hot Fuzz (2007) with Simon Pegg and Nick Frost . Spall also starred in Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez's film Grindhouse . This was followed by roles in He Kills Coppers , Desperate Romantics and Anonymus .

In 2007, Rafe Spall and his father appeared in front of the camera for the first time in an adaptation of A Room with a View . In 2012 he starred in the Oscar-winning drama Life of Pi: Shipwreck with Tiger .

2014 Spall played a major role in X + Y . 2015 followed the role of John Hancock in the three-part series Sons of Liberty .
