Rhedebrügge is a district of Borken in the district of the same name in North Rhine-Westphalia .

Together with Westenborken , Grütlohn and Hoxfeld , Rhedebrugge forms a rural district in the west of Borken with a total of around 2,200 inhabitants.

history

Rhedebrugge was incorporated into Borken on July 1, 1969.

Culture and sights

  • In Rhedebrugge there is a Catholic church, St. Maria Immaculata , which the residents affectionately call "Dom" because of its two towers.
  • Rhedebrügge has two shooting clubs, the shooting club Eschriege 1674 eV and the shooting club St. Hubertus Rhedebrügge eV. Their club life is largely shaped by the annual shooting festivals. One of the highlights of this is the bird shooting , through which the shooter king is determined.
  • In addition, the Musikverein Rhedebrügge eV is located in Rhedebrügge. The music association was founded in 1893 and today has around 140 active members. At the moment there are also around 50 mostly young people in musical training.
  • The development association supports homeland care, local history, culture and sport in the district.
  • Rhedebrugge also has a rural youth, the KJLB Rhedebrugge.
  • The recreational area Pröbstingsee extends northeast of the town center .
