The RMV Rhein-Mosel public transport company ltd is a transport company of public transport in the northern Rhineland-Palatinate . It emerged in 1989 from the Bahnbus (GBB) Rhein-Mosel division of the Deutsche Bundesbahn , making it one of the oldest and largest bus companies in the north of Rhineland-Palatinate. It has been operating under the name DB BAHN - Rhein-Mosel-Bus since 2008 . It is a subsidiary of DB Regio (74.9%) and RMV Beteiligungs GmbH (25.1%). The Rhineland Busdienste GmbH , a merger of several medium-sized bus companies, and Veolia Transdev are each 50% behind RMV Beteiligungs GmbH .

The catchment area covers around 11,300 square kilometers, which corresponds to about half of the total area of ​​the state of Rhineland-Palatinate. Lines are maintained in rural districts and the cities of Koblenz and Trier . There, 255 drivers of the Rhein-Mosel Verkehrsgesellschaft and 1,480 drivers from contractual partners transport around 37 million customers a year in a total of 894  buses . Around 70 percent of this is for schoolchildren and kindergarten children.

The DB Regio Bus Rhein-Mosel GmbH is a 100% subsidiary of RMV Rhein-Mosel public transport company ltd .

The company's headquarters are in Montabaur . Founded in 1997, it operates bus routes in the districts of Altenkirchen , Neuwied , Westerwald , Mayen-Koblenz , Cochem-Zell and Vulkaneifel . She drives on many bus routes around Koblenz , Simmern / Hunsrück , Mayen , Kastellaun , Montabaur and Westerburg on behalf of her parent company.

The rhb rheinhunsrückbus GmbH (rhb) based in Simmern is a 65% subsidiary of the Rhein-Mosel Verkehrsgesellschaft mbH . The remaining shares are held by Zickenheiner GmbH (27%) and Stemmler-Bus GmbH (8%). This company is responsible for public transport in the Rhein-Hunsrück district and operates most of the bus routes there.

RegioLines

In cooperation with the special purpose association SPNV-Nord, the Rhein-Mosel Verkehrsgesellschaft operates eight lines running on a regular schedule under the service name “RegioLinie”, which mainly connect the upper and middle centers in northern Rhineland-Palatinate.

Bike buses

From April to November, additional trailers under the name “RadBus” are used on seven of the RegioLinien for transporting bicycles. The proximity to the heavily frequented cycle paths along the Moselle, the Maare, the Ahr and the Vulkaneifel opens up a high level of tourist potential.

RMV currently has around 110 of its own buses from various manufacturers and years of construction. Most of these are vehicles of the types Mercedes-Benz O 407 , O 405 NÜ, O 530 Ü, O 530 LE, O 530 G and O 550 as well as MAN Lion's City  Ü, Lion's City G, Setra S 315 NF, S 315 UL and Irisbus Crossway LE and Solaris Urbino  18.
