Richard Kurt Fischer

Richard Kurt Fischer (born March 11, 1913 in Götzis ; † October 13, 1999 in Innsbruck ) was an Austrian artist.

Life

Richard Kurt Fischer attended the Innsbruck State Trade School from 1936 to 1939 , did military service in World War II and was then a French prisoner of war. From 1946 to 1949 he studied at the University of Applied Arts Vienna under Eduard Bäumer, among others, and graduated with the State Prize. In 1953/54 he took part in the International Summer Academy for Fine Arts in Salzburg under Oskar Kokoschka  . He worked as a freelance artist in Innsbruck and undertook study trips to Greece, Turkey, Finland, Egypt and Israel, among others. Fischer created oil paintings and watercolors as well as numerous works of art ( mosaics , frescoes , tapestries ) for public buildings and churches. He often designed the interior fittings for churches planned by Clemens Holzmeister .
