Richard Lawrence (Production Designer)

Richard James Lawrence (born before 1976) is a production designer and art director .

Life

Lawrence began his career as assistant art director on the set of Don Siegel's John Wayne - western The Last Sniper . He subsequently worked as both a production designer and art director and worked with directors such as Brian De Palma , John Boorman and Tony Scott .

1984 he worked for Philip Kaufman's film adaptation The Right Stuff , along with Geoffrey Kirkland , W. Stewart Campbell , Peter R. Romero , Jim Poynter and George R. Nelson for the Oscar in the category Design Best nominated, the award went this year, however, to the film drama Fanny and Alexander .

In addition to his work for the film, Lawrence was also active for television, in addition to some television films, he also worked on the television series Mike Hammer and New York Cops - NYPD Blue . In 1990 he was nominated for a Primetime Emmy for his work on the Tracey Ullman Show .
