The cracks is a 18.3 km long tributary of the Giffre in French department of Haute-Savoie in the region of Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . It flows through the Savoyard Faucigny landscape and drains an area of ​​57.5 km².

course

The crack rises on the northeast flank of the Hirmentaz mountain in the municipality of Bellevaux . It flows first on a north-easterly course and only about one kilometer later at the winter sports resort of the same name Hirmentaz makes a 180 ° bend towards the south. The crack now flows through the municipalities of Mégevette and Onnion . Shortly after Onnion it flows through the Gorges du Risse , where it forms the border between Mieussy and Saint-Jeoire for a short distance . It finally flows into the municipality of Saint-Jeoire, opposite Le Pont du Giffre (municipality of Marignier ) as a right tributary into the Giffre .
