Ritsem

Ritsem is a mountain station in the northern Swedish province of Norrbotten County and the historic province of Lapland .

description

The station with an old hydropower plant is located on the Akkajaure reservoir , directly opposite the Akka massif in the municipality of Gällivare . In Ritsem there is a youth hostel and a campground that can be used all year round. From here, many hikers can be taken to the other bank of the Akkajaure by boat. Ritsem is located at the Stora Sjöfallet National Park , through which hikers on the Padjelantaleden can reach the Padjelanta National Park after a day's hike in Kisuris . Together with the Sarek National Park , this region represents the largest contiguous nature reserve in Europe. All three parks are part of the Laponia UNESCO World Heritage Site . A popular hiking route is the Padjelantaleden from Ritsem / Anönjalme via Staloluokta to Kvikkjokk , for which you should plan around eleven days. The next larger towns are Jokkmokk and Gällivare .

traffic

From Gällivare and Porjus (from Jokkmokk ) there is a daily seasonal bus to Ritsem.

From the end of June to mid-September there is a ferry three times a day (morning, noon and evening) across the Akkajaure to the Änonjalme seed settlement (morning and evening also Vaisaluokta) and back. The ferry times are coordinated with the bus schedule.
