Riviera (stretch of coast)
The Riviera (from Italian riva or French rive : shore) is the French - Italian stretch of coast of the Ligurian Sea . This section is divided into two sections:
- Italian Riviera
- Côte d'Azur (French Riviera)
Worldwide, many stretches of coast are also referred to as the Riviera - often to better market the region. Usually it is a particularly beautiful coastline, e.g. B. facing south or on topographically interesting cliffs . They are among the sunniest and particularly interesting regions for bathers.
