Rob Globke (* 24. October 1982 in Farmington , Michigan ) is a retired American ice hockey player , who during his career for the Florida Panthers in the National Hockey League and the Rochester Americans and San Antonio Rampage in the American Hockey League was active . In Europe he played for the Krefeld Pinguine and the Frederikshavn White Hawks, among others .
Career
Rob Globke began his career as a hockey player with the Compuware Ambassadors, for which he was active in the North American Hockey League in the 1998/99 season . He then played for a year for the USA Hockey National Team Development Program in the United States Hockey League , before playing for the University of Notre Dame team from 2000 to 2004 . During this time, the attacker was selected in the second round of the 2002 NHL Entry Draft as the 40th player in total by the Florida Panthers , for their farm teams , the Texas Wildcatters from the ECHL and the San Antonio Rampage, he was selected for the first time in the 2004/05 season professional ice hockey before making his National Hockey League debut for Florida the following season . In his rookie year , the left-handed shooter scored one goal in 18 games for the Panthers. During his time in the Florida Panthers franchise from 2005 to 2008, Globke played parallel for their AHL farm team, the Rochester Americans .
In the summer of 2008, the winger received a contract with the Frederikshavn White Hawks from the Danish AL-Bank Ligaen , for which he scored a total of 13 points, including seven goals, in 19 games. For the 2009/10 season, the American was signed by the Krefeld Penguins from the DEL . In August 2010, Globke signed a one-year contract with Sheffield Steelers .
International
For the United States , Globke took part in the U18 World Junior Championships in 2000 and the U20 World Junior Championships in 2001 and 2002 .
