Robert Lipton

Robert Lipton (born November 20, 1943 in New York City , New York ) is an American actor .

Life

Peggy Lipton's older brother began his career in the mid-1960s, initially with minor guest roles in television series. In 1968 he made his feature film debut at the side of his sister in the western Inferno on the River with Terence Stamp and Karl Malden in the leading roles. That same year he played a tiny role in Bullitt . He had another notable film role in the 1969 film drama Bloody Trail ; after that he played almost exclusively for American television. An exception to this was the spaghetti western Der Colt Gottes with Lee van Cleef and Jack Palance , produced in Israel , in which he once again played a larger role. On television, however, he was a well-booked guest star for decades, appearing in many successful series formats.

Lipton was married to actress Marie Masters between 1983 and 1988 and has no children. He is the uncle of the actresses Kidada Jones and Rashida Jones , daughters from his sister's marriage to Quincy Jones .
