Robert John "Bob" Nardella (born February 2, 1968 in Melrose Park , Illinois ) is a former Italian - American ice hockey player who played in the German Ice Hockey League for the Adler Mannheim .
Career
The 1.76 m tall defender began his career with the Ferris State University team in the National Collegiate Athletic Association before moving to HC Alta Badia in the Italian Serie B in 1991 , via which he moved to HC Alleghe from the series a year later A arrived.
The right-handed shooter was on the ice for the Venetians for two years and then moved back to North America to the Chicago Wolves in the International Hockey League . For the 1995/96 season Nardella signed a contract with the Italian first division club HC Milano 24 , in 1996 he moved to the Adler Mannheim , with whom he was able to win the German championship . After a year in Germany, the defensive man returned to Chicago, in 1998 and 2000 he won the Turner Cup , the championship of the IHL. After the league was dissolved, Nardella started with the Wolves in the American Hockey League , where he was able to win the championship, the Calder Cup , in 2001. In 2003 Nardella played again for Milan, but ended his career after the 2005/06 season with the Chicago Wolves.
International
For the Italian national ice hockey team , Nardella played the world championships in 1995 , 1996 and 1997 , and he was also on the ice at the 1998 Winter Olympics and 2006 Winter Olympics in his adopted country.
