Robert Reyher

Robert Reyher (born February 18, 1838 in Berlin , † May 8, 1877 in Potsdam ) was a German draftsman and engraver.

Life

Robert Reyher was the son of the engraver Ernst Adolph Reyher (1809–1865), who worked as a geographic engraver in Berlin, from 1840 in Potsdam, and from 1848 headed the engraver class at the Academy of Arts in Berlin. Robert Reyher probably received his first training from his father before studying with Eduard Mandel from 1857 to 1862 at the copper engraving school in Berlin . The engravings of barracks and schools in Berlin were made in the early days. After completing his studies, he worked as a reproduction engraver and draftsman, mainly for the Berlin publisher EH Schroeder . From 1858 he exhibited repeatedly at the Academy of Arts. From 1871 to 1875 he was a member of the Association of Berlin Artists . On May 8, 1877, he drowned in the Havel near Sakrow .
