Robert Simon (clergyman, 1937)

Robert Simon (born September 24, 1937 in Munich ) is a German Catholic priest and emeritus vicar general of the Archdiocese of Munich and Freising .

Life

Robert Simon studied theology and philosophy at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich and completed his studies with a doctoral thesis with Richard Egenter on the practice of faith in the church after the Second Vatican Council . The second reviewer was Johannes Gründel .

He received on 29 June 1962 in Freising by Julius Döpfner the priesthood and then celebrated on July 8 in St. Michael his first Mass . During his chaplaincy, he worked in Munich in St. Maximilian and St. Nikolaus .

Archbishop Friedrich Wetter appointed him as the successor to Gerhard Gruber on November 1, 1990 as Vicar General of the Archdiocese of Munich and Freising, after he had been Deputy Vicar General since 1987. After the archbishop retired in 2007, he was appointed permanent representative of the diocesan administrator . In 2009 the new Archbishop Reinhard Marx appointed Peter Beer as his successor in the office of Vicar General .
