Robin Pietsch (born September 19, 1988 in Blankenburg ) is a German chef and entrepreneur .

Education and career

Pietsch began training as a pastry chef with Michael Wiecker in Wernigerode in 2004 . From 2007, he trained as a chef in Ilsenburg , which he began alongside his work as a pastry chef . He then worked for René Bobzin in Blankenburg.

Zeitwerk restaurant

In 2012 he opened his restaurant in the Große Bergstraße in Wernigerode with Zeitwerk by Robin Pietsch . In 2014 Gault-Millau awarded 14 points to the restaurant. The first Michelin star followed in 2017 . In 2018, Gault-Millau named him the newcomer of the year in Saxony-Anhalt and now awarded 15 points in the 2019 restaurant guide. The ZeitWerk restaurant was the only starred restaurant in Saxony-Anhalt until 2020 .

Pietsch restaurant

In May 2019, Robin Pietsch announced the opening of his second restaurant in Wernigerode. Owner Robin Pietsch hired Jürgen Kettner as head chef. A menu based on the Japanese Kaiseki tradition is offered, which is modified by international cuisine. The bar restaurant with 14 seats was opened in July 2019. In March 2020 the restaurant was also awarded a Michelin star.

Pietsch and his restaurant gained fame by broadcasting episode 218 of the professional chefs in May 2013. In August 2015, he took first place in the show Mein Lokal, Dein Lokal with four other hosts from the Harz region .

Since September 2016, Pietsch has been cooking together with other well-known chefs in the cooking show Kampf der Köche on Sat.1 . On May 6, 2018, he was seen as a mentor cook at Grill die Profi . At MDR Sachsen-Anhalt , he is the host on Fridays of the radio show Die Kochfrage der Woche with Robin Pietsch . In July 2018 he was seen in the program Das Musikschiff - Stars on a Wave on Sat.1 Gold , in which he explored cities with culinary delights on a cruise with the protagonists . On August 26, 2018, an episode of the series The Perfect Professional Dinner was broadcast on VOX , in which he was seen alongside three other well-known chefs. Since May 2019 he has appeared as a juror in the ZDF cookery program Die Küchenschlacht . In May 2019 Pietsch was a guest on the MDR talk show Riverboat . In November 2019, the federal government portrayed Robin Pietsch for an interactive talk format under the motto “Our history writes the future” on the day of the 30th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall . Also in November 2019 there was a report about Pietsch in Galileo format on Pro7 .

Private

Pietsch lives with his partner in Blankenburg and has a daughter.

  • 2020: One Michelin star each for the Zeitwerk and Pietsch restaurants in the 2020 Michelin Guide .
  • 2019: 15 points and "Discovery of the year in Saxony-Anhalt" in Gault-Millau 2020 for the Pieket restaurant , Pietsch also defended 15 points for the Zeitwerk restaurant.
  • 2019: State winner in Saxony-Anhalt at the "Marketing Award - Lighthouses of the Tourism Industry" tourism award from the East German Savings Banks Association .
  • 2019: 7 pans in the restaurant & gourmet guide Gusto for the Zeitwerk restaurant
  • 2018: 15 points and "Newcomer of the year in Saxony-Anhalt" in Gault-Millau 2019 for the Zeitwerk restaurant
  • 2017: One star in the 2018 Michelin Guide for the Zeitwerk restaurant
  • 2014: Two diamonds in the Varta guide for the Zeitwerk restaurant
  • 2014: 14 points in Gault-Millau 2014 for the Zeitwerk restaurant
