Rod Pelley (born September 1, 1984 in Kitimat , British Columbia ) is a Canadian ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Stockton Heat in the American Hockey League since summer 2017 .

Career

Rod Pelley began his career as a hockey player with the Prince George Spruce Kings, for whom he was active in the British Columbia Hockey League from 2000 to 2002 . The attacker then played for four years for the Ohio State University team before he was signed to the New Jersey Devils on July 24, 2006 as a free agent . For New Jersey, the left shooter made his debut in the National Hockey League in the 2006/07 season , with no point and penalty in nine games. The rest of the season, however, he spent with New Jersey's farm team , the Lowell Devils from the American Hockey League (AHL). After he then played in parallel for the New Jersey Devils and the Lowell Devils, he came back from the 2009/10 season for New Jersey in the NHL.

As part of a swap, Pelley moved to the Anaheim Ducks in December 2011 and scored his first goal for them in the game against the Phoenix Coyotes on December 14th. In the following 2012/13 season, however, he was only used in the Ducks farm team, the Norfolk Admirals , in the AHL. In the summer of 2013 he moved within the AHL to the Albany Devils and led the team as captain for four years. He then joined the Stockton Heat in the summer of 2017 .
