The Rodenstatt is an approx. 12 hectare hill fort near the village of Brakelsiek in Schieder-Schwalenberg , which is dated to the Iron Age and has been under protection as a ground monument since 1950.

The remains of the settlement and its walling are located about two kilometers east of the Brakelsiek location, under forest on the eastern edge of the Adamberg at an altitude of 405 m. It ends to the northwest in the wooded steep slope Rodenstätter Wand .

According to local tradition, the complex was surrounded by a wall, which was gradually razed by stone robbery. The north-west corner of the complex has been almost completely destroyed by a brick and pottery that operated there between 1781 and 1826.

The local history researcher Leo Nebelsiek carried out a test excavation in the area in 1949 and was able to detect signs of a stone-wood-earth construction in the remains of the wall. In 1966 Friedrich Hohenschwert carried out a further excavation with a subsequent C-14 investigation to determine the age of the facility.
