Roderath is a northeastern part of the municipality of Nettersheim in the North Rhine-Westphalian district of Euskirchen .

geography

The Kolvenbach rises at the northeast exit of the village . In Roderath there is a riding facility for Icelandic horses . At the southern exit of the village is the "Roderather Marmorbruch" for limestone .

There is a fire fighting group from the Nettersheim volunteer fire brigade in the village .

history

The remains of a Roman villa rustica 800 m west of Roderath are worth seeing .

Presumably, the place was first mentioned in 893 as "Rodenre" in the Prümer Urbar .

The Catholic chapel of St. Maternus and St. Antonius is located in the village .

On July 1, 1969, Roderath was incorporated into Nettersheim.
