Rokytne ( Ukrainian Рокитне ; Russian Рокитное Rokitnoje , Polish Rokitno or older Rakitno ) is a village in the Rivne Oblast in Ukraine and borders in the south on the urban-type settlement of the same name, Rokytne .

The village has about 4900 inhabitants (2006) and is the seat of the district council of Rokytne, which also includes the villages of Lissowe ( Лісове ), Osnyzk ( Осницьк ) and Staryky ( Старики ). Rokytne is not far north of the M 07 highway, halfway between Kiev and the Ukrainian-Polish border crossing at Jahodyn .

The village already existed before 1795 as part of the aristocratic republic of Poland-Lithuania in the Brześć Litewski Voivodeship and in 1792 came to the newly founded Volhynia governorate as part of the Russian Empire . After the end of the First World War , the village became part of the Second Polish Republic ( Voivodeship Volhynia , Powiat Sarny, Gmina Kisorycze), after the outbreak of the Second World War the area was occupied by the Soviet Union and from 1941 by Germany . In 1945 the village came back to the Soviet Union and was incorporated into the Ukrainian SSR . After the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991, it finally became part of the independent Ukraine.
