Thomas Hailer

Thomas Hailer (born January 15, 1945 in Netzschkau ; † August 22, 2014 in Berlin ) was a German actor and voice actor .

Life

Thomas Hailer was born on January 15, 1945 in Netzschkau in Vogtland . After attending the theater college in Leipzig, he got stage engagements in Plauen, Zwickau, Altenburg, Erfurt and at the German National Theater in Weimar. This was followed by a long period of freelance work until Walter Felsenstein brought him to the Komische Oper Berlin in 1975 . He played several leading roles for GDR television and in front of the camera for children's productions. He became known above all with the Moritzburg television theater in an episode of the " Ferienheim Bergkristall " series, with several comedies and swans and through close collaboration with Hans-Joachim Preil , whom he accompanied as a stage partner on around 470 evenings together. From 1987 to 1989 he presented a magazine about the country and people of the Soviet Union on GDR television (2nd program) together with Irina Schabowski, Günter Schabowski's wife . From 1990 to 1991 he was a presenter and editor for Thuringia television. After the fall of the Wall, he also had a lot of success as an actor at the Komödie in Kassel, but also with three directing jobs. From 1992 to 1996 he presented several TV series and music programs for the MDR. He learned the Swedish language while filming in Sweden for the programs “German for Foreigners” and “German for Sweden”. Reading evenings has been one of his favorite pastimes in recent years. This particularly affected Erwin Strittmatter , Erich Kästner as well as Richard Wagner and Gerhart Hauptmann , which he successfully competed with Wolfgang Seppelt.
