Rolf Scheffbuch

Rolf Scheffbuch (born January 25, 1931 in Calw ; † November 10, 2012 in Korntal ) was a German Protestant theologian and prelate of Ulm .

Life

Scheffbuch was the son of a teacher, his brother was Winrich Scheffbuch . After studying theology and philosophy in Tübingen and Bonn , and theology and sociology in the United States and a subsequent vicariate , he was personal advisor to the then Württemberg regional bishop Martin Haug from 1957 . Then Scheffbuch was pastor at Ulm Minster from 1959 to 1965 . From 1965 to 1975 he headed the work of what was then the Evangelical Youth Office in Württemberg . After that he was dean in Schorndorf for fourteen years . From 1989 to 1995 was Scheffbuch prelate of the diocese Ulm.

Rolf Scheffbuch was married and had two sons and two daughters, including the pedagogue Ruth Scheffbuch and the pastor of the Ludwig Hofacker community in Stuttgart, Ulrich Scheffbuch.

Scheffbuch was a member of the Württemberg regional synod from 1965 to 1989. From 1980 to 1999 he was chairman of the pietistic Ludwig Hofacker Association, succeeding Fritz Grünzweig . He campaigned for the great evangelization movement ProChrist and was chairman of the European branch of the evangelical Lausanne movement . In retirement he worked as a preacher, speaker and spiritual guide.
