Romain Hamouma (born March 29, 1987 in Lure ) is a French football player with Algerian roots. The right winger has been under contract with AS Saint-Étienne in Ligue 1 since 2012 .

family

Hamouma's father's family comes from Algeria . Romain Hamouma himself stated in an interview that he felt more French himself and therefore decided on French citizenship .

Career

Hamouma started his career at JS Luronnes and after two years at ASM Belfort he moved to the youth team at FC Sochaux . In 2005 he committed the RC Besançon , a third-rate club at that time . In the 2009/10 season he played for Stade Laval in Ligue 2 . He made his Ligue 1 debut on August 15, 2010 in a 3-2 win over Olympique Lyon for SM Caen . He scored his first goal against Stade Rennes on December 22, 2010 to make it 1-0. Hamouma has been playing for AS Saint-Étienne since 2012 . In the 2012/13 season he won the French League Cup with the club .
