Kévin Monnet-Paquet (born August 19, 1988 in Bourgoin-Jallieu ) is a French football player .

Career

RC Lens

Monnet-Paquet is of Rwandan origin and began his career with RC Lens. His career started on August 19, 2006 in Ligue 1 , when he was substituted in a game against FC Lorient in the 78th minute of play against Jonathan Lacourt . Kévin Monnet-Paquet, nicknamed "KMP", took part in the U-19 European Football Championship in Austria. There he proved his football skills and was able to convince as a competent young footballer. He was particularly noticeable in a game against Serbia by scoring a hat trick and thus securing the victory for his team (score: 5: 2).

At the end of the summer of 2007, Monnet-Paquet refused to be loaned by US Boulogne ( Ligue 2 ) because he hoped that he could enforce the plans of his coach from Lens FC.

His goal in Ligue 1 was a derby against Valenciennes FC . That goal gave him more playing time until the end of the season, but his contribution wasn't enough to support his side. That's why he started the 2008/2009 season in Ligue 2 and was very promising.

Between seasons, the performances that Monnet-Paquet produced became interesting to other football teams, but his primary team hoped he would continue. The Le Mans FC offered him a contract. The President of the RC Lens, Gervais Martel , responded and offered to extend his contract for another four years. Monnet-Paquet signed on September 26, 2008 and his contract was extended to 2013. Thus, the player gained confidence in the new coach Jean-Guy Wallemme and became the top scorer of his team.

In winter 2009 he was one of the most desirable players, especially Monnet-Paquet was popular with French and European football teams. This player was even in demand at Fiorentina .

FC Lorient

On August 30, 2010 he was loaned from FC Lorient . The president of FC Lorient Loïc Féry announced that Monnet-Paquet will be used for the 2011–2012 season. His position as the left winger proved advantageous and played a total of 137 games with this team over four seasons.

AS Saint-Etienne

On June 23, 2014, he left FC Lorient and signed a contract with AS Saint-Étienne for 4 years. On August 17, 2014, he played his first game at AS Saint-Étienne against Stade Reims and won the game 3-1. On August 28, 2014 there was a game against Kardemir Karabükspor in a European competition . On September 21, 2014, at his 200th game, there was a meeting with his first team, where he started his football career, the RC Lens.

On January 21, 2015, at the round of 32 of the French Football Cup, Monnet-Paquet met Tours FC . After the win, they were qualified for the round of 16.

On October 1, 2015, AS Saint-Étienne lost 3-2 to Lazio Rome . Therefore, his next goal in the 2015/2016 season is a successful derby against Lazio Rome.
