The 'Rosa Claussen' , also known as 'Dithmarscher Borsdorfer', 'Hanna Claussen' or 'Jungferntitt', is a table apple variety from Dithmarschen . The variety 'Rosa Claussen' probably originated in a kink around 1910 as a chance seedling .

The namesake of the apple variety 'Rosa Claussen' lived in the municipality of Wrohm , which is known for its old fruit trees.

Variety characteristics

The 'Rosa Claussen' variety is considered cancer-free and forms large, well-branched trees.

The fruit stalk is short and hardly looks out of the calyx . The fruits are medium-sized with a flat skin and a deep stem. Fruits of the 'Rosa Claussen' variety are yellow-green at the beginning with red stripes on the sunny side, which later changes to a red skin with bright spots on the skin. The “pulp” is yellowish and tasty, mildly sour with a distinctive aroma. The 'Rosa Claussen' variety is ready to eat from the end of September to February.
