The 'Wilstedter apple' is a commercial and table variety of the cultural apple . The place of origin is the village of Wilstedt in the Stormarn district (Schleswig-Holstein). It is said to have been bred by the apple farmer Johann Neels in 1928.

The medium-sized to large fruits have an angular shape and are often a little crooked. The skin is rough and not greasy, its basic color is green, when ripe it is yellowish-green, washed over red on the sunny side or all around. The “ pulp ” is white. The taste is described as juicy and aromatic.

The Wilstedter is a winter apple , harvest maturity is the end of October, the maturity for consumption ranges from February to May The shelf life is very good if stored in a not too dry place.

The variety is considered undemanding and frost hardy . The yield is high and regular, and old trees are particularly rich in fruit.
