The apple variety Gelber Richard is a table apple variety from Körchow near Wittenburg in western Mecklenburg . The Gelber Richard variety probably originated around 1800, but was not described for the first time until 1859. The distribution is in all of northern Germany , but especially near the coast.

Variety characteristics

The trees of the Gelber Richard variety are of medium growth and tend to pre-crop fall. The Gelber Richard variety is prone to cancer and scab .

The fruit of the Gelber Richard variety is light green to yellow with a spot of rust in the stem pit . The fruits become medium-sized and cone-shaped. They ripen from September to November.

The "pulp" is whitish and crumbly. It is tasty, sweet and sour with a pronounced aroma.

From a seedling of the apple variety Gelber Richard , the variety Fürst Blücher was bred around 1880 in Vellahn, Mecklenburg .
