The Rossmatter Chlü is an approximately 7 kilometers long right tributary of the Chlü in the Swiss canton of Glarus . It flows through the Rossmatter valley , a side valley of the Klöntal , in the southwest of the municipality of Glarus .

The longest source stream of the Rossmatter Chlü rises at about 2005 m above sea level. M. on the north wall of the Hinter Gassenstock . After a short walk to the northeast, it reaches the Zeinenmatt and flows into the small Mattseeli .
It leaves the mountain lake again and flows through the Zeinen high valley in a north-westerly direction. At Ankenloch it plunges into the Rossmatter Valley and at the same time takes in the Firnbach from the right at Käsernalp and the water from the Dräggloch from the left . At Klönstalden , the stream turns north and crosses the Siechenloch gorge . It reaches Alpeliboden , where it turns to the northeast.
Finally, the Rossmatter Chlü flows into the Hinter Klöntal at 862 m above sea level. M. near Kubliberg in the Steppeli corridor from the right into the Richisauerchlü , which is then only called Chlü. At the mouth, the Rossmatter Chlü is somewhat shorter, but has a larger catchment area and a stronger runoff.
Catchment area
The catchment area of the Rossmatter Chlü extends over an area of 32.62 square kilometers. It consists of 52.7% unproductive area, 30.3% agricultural area, 8.9% wooded area, 7.5% glaciers and firne, 0.4% water area and 0.1% settlement area. The highest point is at 2910 m above sea level. M. a little below the Bächistock , the average altitude is 1990 m above sea level. M.
In the west lies the catchment area of the Muota and its tributary Starzlen , in the east the Linth valley borders .
