Rottorf is a district of Winsen (Luhe) in the Harburg district in Lower Saxony . The place has 1175 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2014; 2009: 1193).

history

Rottorf is first mentioned in a document in 1233. On July 1, 1972, Rottorf was incorporated into Winsen as part of the regional reform along with twelve other places. The village mayor is Hans-Bernd Graubner (3/2011).

location

The place is on the district road K87 (formerly Bundesstraße 4) between Winsen and Lüneburg . The federal highway 404 , which is connected to the highway 39 in the south, runs east of the town . Rottorf belongs to the parish of Handorf .

Education and Social

There are two playgrounds in Rottorf. In 1997, a senior citizens' group was set up for the elderly in the district. A two-class kindergarten under the direction of the DRK has existed since 1998. There is a riding and driving club .

The Rottorf volunteer fire brigade was founded on June 1, 1906. Before that there was a compulsory fire brigade . In April 1974 the current fire station was opened.

The sports club MTV Rottorf was founded in 1920. Today the association has 620 members.

There is a memorial to the victims of both world wars in the village .
