Tönnhausen is a district of Winsen (Luhe) in the Harburg district in Lower Saxony . On December 31, 2017, the place had a total of 731 inhabitants. Mayor is Wolfgang Rieckmann.

Tönnhausen harbor

The place is in the Elbmarsch between Alter Au and the Ilmenau Canal. A large number of Bracks can be found in Tönnhausen . Historically Tönnhausen belongs to the villages of the inland march .

history

Tönnhausen was first mentioned in a document in 1412. On July 1, 1972, Tönnhausen was incorporated into the district town of Winsen (Luhe).

Culture

As a local association there is the Faslamsbrüder Tönnhausen, who celebrate Faslam annually on the weekend before Rose Monday .

The Tönnhafen Festival, a music festival  and village festival at Tönnhausen Harbor, has been taking place since 2015  .

Local public transport is ensured by line 4404 of the KVG Stade in the HVV . Tönnhausen is on the Winsen – Niedermarschacht railway line . Only goods traffic takes place here.
