Rouven Kai Sattelmaier (born August 7, 1987 in Ludwigsburg ) is a former German soccer goalkeeper and current coach.

Career

Sattelmaier began playing football at TSV Affalterbach , a sports club in the Ludwigsburg district . He played in the youth departments of VfB Stuttgart , SGV Freiberg and the Stuttgarter Kickers . In 2005 he switched to SSV Jahn Regensburg , for whose U-19 team he played until June 2006 and then until 2007 for the latter's second team. He made his debut in the professional team in the Regionalliga Süd on May 31, 2008 (34th matchday) in the 2-0 defeat at home against FSV Frankfurt . In the following season he completed 27 appearances in the newly created 3rd division and  became the first goalkeeper in the professional squad after an injury to regular goalkeeper Bastian Becker in November 2008 .

For the 2010/11 season , Bayern Munich signed him for his second team . Sattelmaier was also a third goalkeeper in the first team. For the 2011/12 season he was ousted by Maximilian Riedmüller ; since then he has been the substitute goalkeeper of the second team and number four in the professional squad. After two seasons, his time at Bayern ended at the end of the 2011/12 season ; for the first team he was only used in friendly matches. On January 1, 2013, 1. FC Heidenheim signed him . In two seasons he was used in 13 point games. For the 2015/16 season he switched to the Stuttgarter Kickers , for whose youth department he had previously been active. He made his debut for Stuttgart in the 3rd league on August 23, 2015 (3rd matchday) in a goalless draw at home against VfR Aalen .

In the summer of 2016, Sattelmeier moved to the English third division club Bradford City , with whom he signed a contract that ran until June 30, 2017. He made his competitive debut on August 30, 2016 in the game for the Football League Trophy , the cup competition of the Football League , in a 1-0 victory in the group game against the U-23 selection from Stoke City . He made his league debut on November 12, 2016 (17th matchday) in a 4-0 home win against Rochdale AFC .

On August 13, 2018, Sattelmeier signed a contract with SV Darmstadt 98 in the 2nd division that was valid until June 2019 . After relegation in spring 2019, the goalkeeper's contract, who had not been used, was not extended; The goalkeeper then ended his playing career due to an injury.

After the active career

After the end of his active career, Sattelmeier signed a one-year contract with third division club SG Sonnenhof Großaspach in the summer of 2019 . There he succeeded David Yelldells as goalkeeping coach.
