Rubén Castro Martín (born June 27, 1981 in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria ) is a Spanish football player who plays at UD Las Palmas in the Primera División .

Player career

Rubén Castro started his career as a professional footballer at UD Las Palmas , the largest club in his hometown Las Palmas de Gran Canaria . Although he with 22 goals this season 2003/04 top scorer in the Segunda División was his team rose to the Segunda División B from. The move to the first division club Deportivo La Coruña followed . The Galicians awarded him, however, in his first season (to the first division competitor Albacete Balompié ). There, too, he was able to perform well.

For the 2005/06 season he returned to "Depor", where he was able to score three goals in 24 games. In 2006 it was awarded again, this time to Racing Santander . In the summer of 2010 Castro moved to Betis Sevilla in the Segunda División . With the Andalusians he scored 27 goals in the 2010/11 season and immediately rose to the Primera División. In the 2011/12 season he was also in the first division with 16 goals in 34 games and reached relegation early with Betis. In the 2012/13 season he scored 18 goals in a further 34 games and qualified with Betis for the 2013/14 UEFA Europa League .
