Rudolf Danner

Rudolf Dänner (born October 13, 1862 in Lindau (Lake Constance) , † August 21, 1936 in Bad Kohlgrub ) was a Bavarian lieutenant general .

Life

On October 1st, 1881, Dänner joined the 3rd Infantry Regiment "Prince Karl of Bavaria" of the Bavarian Army in Augsburg as a one-year volunteer . He was accepted into the regiment as an officer candidate in January 1882 and attended the military school in Munich from October 1882 to November 1883 .

From October 22, 1913, Dänner was in command of the 23rd Infantry Regiment . He led this association after the outbreak of World War I on the Western Front and was seriously wounded in the fighting on August 31, 1914. After a stay in hospital and his recovery, he was head of the field recruits depot of the 3rd Division for three months . He also commanded the 1st Division , which he led until it was dissolved.

On October 26, 1918, Dänner was awarded the Order Pour le Mérite .
