Rudolf Huber-Wilkoff

Rudolf Huber-Wilkoff (* 1936 in Munich ) is a German artist , graphic designer , curator and publisher .

Live and act

Huber-Wilkoff studied graphic design and painting at the Graphic Academy in Munich from 1957 to 1963 . He lived in Munich until 1974. Since 1974 he has lived and worked on a four-sided farm in Kottigstelzham near Simbach am Inn . He has been a freelance artist since 1965 and deals with drawing, sculpture, installation, printmaking and painting.

From the mid-1960s to the early 1970s he was one of the representatives of New Figurative Painting in Germany. From 1972 to 1984 he took a break from art. From 2001 onwards, Peter Assmann and Huber-Wilkoff created joint works using various techniques. The works thrive on the dialogue between image and language, with the artists also changing roles.

Rudolf Huber-Wilkoff's work is characterized by his work in numerous artistic media as well as by the use of image and text templates from the mass media and objects from nature and everyday life. Rudolf Huber-Wilkoff deals with codes, the optical signaling of everyday things, relates the present to the ephemeral and past.

Several works are in the art collection of the state of Upper Austria, the State Collection of Graphics in Munich and the city of Simbach.
