Rudolf Sprung (born September 16, 1925 in Hornbostel ; † March 18, 2015 in Goslar ) was a German politician ( CDU ). From 1983 to 1987 he was Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Minister of Economics .

Life

Education, job, family

Sprung took part in the Second World War as a soldier from 1943 to 1945 . After his release from prisoner-of-war he passed his Abitur in 1946 and then completed a degree in economics in Göttingen , which he completed in 1949 as a graduate economist. He then worked as a research assistant at the University of Göttingen . In 1952 here his promotion to Dr. rer pol. with a thesis on the circulation of money "Velocity of circulation and multiplier" . He then joined the head office of Friedrich Krupp AG as a director's assistant , but moved to the Federal Ministry of Finance in 1953 . Here he was a member of the German delegation for the negotiations on the establishment of the EEC and Euratom . From 1958 to 1963, Sprung was Deputy Director of the European Investment Bank in Brussels . After retiring from the public service, he was personally liable partner in a wholesaler in Goslar from 1963 to 1983 .

Rudolf Sprung has five children, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Party & mandate

Jump had been a member of the CDU since 1960. For many years he was chairman of the CDU district association in Goslar and the CDU regional association in Braunschweig . Jump was a member of the German Bundestag from 1969 to 1994 . From 1980 to 1982 he was deputy chairman of the finance committee and from 1982 to 1983 chairman of the economics working group of the CDU / CSU parliamentary group . From 1983 onwards, Rudolf Sprung has always been a directly elected member of the Goslar constituency and previously entered the Bundestag via the Lower Saxony state list.

Public offices

On March 29, 1983, Sprung was appointed Parliamentary State Secretary to the Federal Minister of Economics in the Federal Government led by Federal Chancellor Helmut Kohl . After the federal election in 1987 , he left office on March 12, 1987.
