Rudolf Burk , from 1899 von Burk , (born June 6, 1841 in Warmbronn , † December 23, 1924 in Ulm ) was a Württemberg medical officer , most recently a general doctor .

Life

The son of a pastor Burk studied at the universities of Tubingen and Wurzburg medicine . In Tübingen he joined the student union Landsmannschaft Scotland . Burk was then assistant doctor to Victor von Bruns and was promoted to Dr. med. PhD . In June of the same year he became an assistant doctor at the Solitude Field Hospital . During the battle at Tauberbischofsheim he was the battalion doctor of the 8th Württemberg Infantry Regiment . For a short time he settled in Tübingen as a general practitioner, but in 1868 he returned to the military and was transferred to Ulm.

During the Franco-Prussian War , Burk took part in the two battles at Villiers and the siege of Paris . From 1874 to 1875 he was in Weingarten, then again in Ulm as a garrison doctor, and later there for 13 years as regimental doctor with the field artillery regiment "King Karl" (1st Württembergisches) No. 13 . He then became a division doctor of the ( 27th Division (2nd Royal Württembergische) ) and head of the garrison hospital, where he retired as a general doctor with the rank of colonel . During the First World War he was again active as 1st garrison doctor and surgical adviser for all hospitals in Ulm, at the same time 1st chief physician of the garrison hospital.
